Wildcard ignore in binary_file_patterns

Hello!

We can use the config key “binary_file_patterns” to exclude files from Find In Folder but still have those files show in the sidebar. My goal is to ignore the folder “node_modules” from Find in Files but still have it show in the sidebar, I have tried several patterns and they don’t seem to work.

This old topic suggests using spaces, I tried that and it doesn’t work in ST3

Is this possible with ST3 or should I submit it as a feature request?

are you trying to add the binary_file_patterns to your project file? it will only work in the ST preferences file atm:

node_modules/* or node_modules/ seems to be the common solution:

may not be the best way to do it, but this package allows you to right-click a sidebar folder and either ‘exclude from indexing’ or ‘exclude from project’
