Update to 3200 kills all installed packages!

Hi,

I am new to this forum, but not to sublime, have been using it for many years on OSX. After last night’s update to 3200 a large number of windows popped stating that sublime was trying to remove packages. And then they were indeed all gone. Removed from the library. This includes a highly customized version of LatexTools.

Something drastic must have gone wrong …

Anybody else with similar experience.

I have had this issue in the past when I had a load of packages installed, not sure why it happened, but I now try and keep minimal packages installed and keep a log of which ones I have installed.

Most conveniently done by putting the Package Control.sublime-settings file under source control

Good and yet obvious tip, lol. Many thanks for pointing out. To be honest I use a laptop and Desktop PC with similar setups so I usually just copy one from the other in this instance as well.

Similar effect, but probably unrelated:

Windows local-user upgrade deletes installed packages

If you choose to install on Windows, but "install for just me" instead of "install for everyone," the files go into ~/AppData/Roaming/Sublime Text 3. This is great, but there's a twist: It clears out all installed packages and user overrides when there is an update. Can Installed Packages and Packages/User be saved when a new version is installed?

… good to know that there are people out there with similar experiences. Just for info, I have only a handful of packages installed, maybe 10 or so. This includes a fat one (LatexTools). Latest updates, to 3204, were were peaceful.
