SpellCheck, Multilingual dictionary sublime3 English+Greek not working

#1

Hello,

My platform is:

  • OSX macOS Sierra 10.12.6
  • SublimeText 3 build 3143

I have a multilingual dictionary for English and Greek which does not work (undelines in red 95% of the words):

  • Both .dic and .aff files are in UTF-8
  • the first line in the .aff file is ‘SET UTF-8’
  • using the command ‘hunspell -d English.Greek input.txt’ works
  • the same dictionary works in thunderbird
  • in the settings I have added ‘“dictionary”: …’ and from the console it finds the filename

I would really appreciate some help to troubleshoot the problem:

  • Do I require both .aff and .doc files. Does ST uses both files (although on the settings I setup only the dic one)?
  • My Greek part of the .dic is just a list of words. My English part of the .doc has rules e.g. Zuzana/M . I tried splitting the .dic so that it includes only the Greek words. Still the same problem (hunspell from the command line works, it does not work through the sublime interface).
  • is there a way to debug what is actually ST is doing?
  • is there a limit on the size of the dictionary? My .doc file is about 25M

Thanks!!!

BUG spell checking large dictionaries
#2

Hello again,

After doing various tests it seems that the .aff is causing the problem. Still it works when using hunspell directly through the command line.

Is there a way to put ST3 into some type of debug mode to check what exactly is doing when spellchecking?

Thanks!
