BUG spell checking large dictionaries

Hello,

I am using ST 3.0 Build 3143

I am noticing that ST cannot handle anymore big spelling dictionaries (.dic).

The dictionary I am using has 710800 words (16MB) and it is Greek. ST3 is not using it and when I doing spellcheck most of the words turn red (underlined).

When I decrease the size of the dictionary to 710700 words it seems that it works.

This was not a issue the previous version 3.0 I have been using.

My goal is to use a bulingual dictionary (English + Greek) which has approx 1.2 million words.

The dictionary works in openoffice/firefox/thunderbird but not in ST.

The problem is that I cannot really debug it more because I cannot find any debugging information anywhere in the system related to spelling.

I guess this post is also related:

are there any errors in the ST console (View menu -> Show Console) when you use a large dictionary?
I’m guessing you upgraded from build 3126? are you able to try the portable version of 3131 and 3132? to see whether maybe it was somehow related to the fix for this issue:


I wounder whether clearing the added_words in your user preferences makes any difference

having support for spell checking multiple dictionaries at once is a fairly popular feature request
