Missing Mac Feature: Gutter Active Line Number
Disregard Sublime Text foundation's 4 machine-related flaws (?), that are mentioned in some detail elsewhere. Overlays or other techniques will handily accomplish 2 Gutter Number color highlights.
Unfortunately, Macs are starved by the Sublime Text multi-line selection display ecosystem. What we would expect to enhance use: two configurable Gutter Number colors, with one color to show cursor locations , and one color to show last-established cursor location.
Cursor Locations can include selected text.
Last-established Cursor Location is a life-saver when the number of lines with selected content gets large. We are all human and multi-tasking does disrupt workflow - a dedicated last-established visual cue, essential time saver where selection progress ties to gossip, calculations, research, and so on.
NOTE! My if:or scored in just one university, but it is no stretch to consider that a third color for selected text could conflict with last-established, depriving Sublime simplicity, and for thoroughness necessitating at least four (4) gutter-number colors. 2 colors are enough for an immense improvement.
It would be nice if Sublime Text not only fixes this fail, but also embeds into (and leaves room for) user custom Gutter Number highlights. For example, right-click (tap) to select line number (s) color (s) from a default group of colors, team ownership, theme Gutter Number colors, assign Gutter Number colors specific to code languages, reflect device activity such as regular vs. 3D printing, any more ideas? How to turn on Gutter Number highlight colors?
2019 Jan 22 EXIST :((
BAD: no gutter number coloring so CONFUSES WORKFLOW, and OBFUSCATES DISPLAY information, and DISORGANIZES DISPLAY behavior that should be activated in countless ways, as standard Sublime Text behavior
2019-? NOT EXIST but better :))
