Yahei Consolas Hybrid Font no longer working properly in Sublime 3

(Mac OS X)

Yahei Consolas Hybrid Font no longer working properly in Sublime 3. I think at least the spacing is less than expected.

[1] below is the font in textedit

[3] in sublime 2 (same setting as above)

Please advise how do I fix it - how do I make it look as good as it did in sublime 2?

Perhaps you want to change the font options in the settings to specify using (the old and buggy) gdi font engine?

Thanks for your quick reply.

I tried setting font_options and theme_font_options to contain "gdi" but nothing has changed. I also tried other options and the only noticeable change is with option gray_antialias

(and I am on a MAC OS X if that can still run gdi)
