Windows > Right Click > New > Sublime Text File

#1

I just updated to Windows 11. After updating, my windows shell menu does not show Sublime Text anymore.

After clicking the right mouse button I go to “New” and do not find “Sublime Text File (TXT)”.

Before the update I had a menu entry to quickly create sublime text files.

Deinstalling Sublime Text 4 does not help. The context menu entry is gone.

Is anyone else having this problem. How do I recreate this super usefull entry?

A .txt file isn’t specific to Sublime Text. You can create a “Text Document” in Windows 11:

This creates a .txt file.

If the file does not open in Sublime Text by default, you can set Sublime Text as the default editor for .txt files by right-clicking a .txt file (e.g. the one you just created), click on “Properties” like so:

And then click on “Change…” and select Sublime Text from the list.

Close all dialogs with the “OK” button.

Thanks for answering.

The problem is: Since updating to Windows 11 “Text Document” is not showing up in this list.
How do I get “Text Document” back into this New list?
