(Win) Shift-Click on Icon does not open new window

#1

I am a bit confused about the behaviour of Sublime when shift-clicking on the Icon in the taskbar. This should open another instance of the program, but it is completely ignored.

I do know about the -n toggle which would work, but I also use “remember last open files” which then leads to two windows opened (the remembered file and the new one).

Is there a way to get Sublime open a new window with shift+click? That would be the “native” windows way to create new program instances and would be very welcome to me.

This works for me in ST4 build 4109, though a new window will only be created if there isn’t already a pure empty window (i.e. the first time it creates an empty window, but until you open something in that window, it won’t do anything else).

Nope, not for me. I even tried the beta 4107 which changed nothing. I removed my personal settings file - no change.

No matter if I have a file open or not no new window is created. TBH it should not matter - if I decide to shift-click on the icon it should always open a new empty window. Even multiple times.

4107 is a stable release. 4109 is the current development build which fixes this. It not opening another new empty window if there already is one is intended behavior in order to avoid littering extra windows.

Yes, I can confirm that it is working with the latest DEV build 4109 properly.
To the extend that it really does only allow one extra window to be opened. While not a huge thing I would opt to not limit anything - if the user wants to open a bunch of extra windows, let em do it.

Thank you for your help.
