Why is the windows ST4 different from the Linux St4

#1

Just installed St4 on a windows machine.
switched to the adaptive theme

now I have no menubar. I dont want a hamburger menu. How do i switch this to using a MENU BAR. I cannot find anything in the hamburger, its not whate I expect, nothing is where I expect it to be. it is not aligned the way my brain says a menu should be aligned and i dont want it.

This never EVER happened on any linux installation of sublime text

Found a site that said turn the themed title bar setting off. Did this. DO NOT LIKE IT. Please make it possible to have a themed MENU BAR in windows 10 using the adaptive theme. the hamburger menu is horrible. I do not like it when the same thing on two different machines behave in completely different manners. There should be a way to have adaptive theme with themed title bars enabled and NOT be forced to use that horrendously unusable hamburger thing.

In Preferences >> Settings

	// Adaptive theme only: controls if a custom or default title bar is used.
	// Note that on Windows, the hamburger menu is used whenever this is
	// enabled and the adaptive theme is in use.
	"themed_title_bar": true,

That’s what he also doesn’t like.

I love the hamburger manu as the thing of the 90’s called main manu always came into my way.

I don’t want to comment forther on that rant.

I want the themed title bar. I want the menu bar.

Why does the windows version FORCE you into using the hamburgber menu? I cannot use it. I keep trying to find the MENU and not finding it and getting frustrated that there is no menu bar.

Why does the visual interface for the editor need to be different just because it is running in windows. this is so damned frustrating.

You know you can ask questions and provide feedback on here without having a melodramatic fit

Welcome to using Windows. The title bar can’t be themed because the win32 API doesn’t support theming. We work around that by rendering it identically ourselves but that’s limited to the simple title bar with a hamburger menu.
