What is the left-pointing arrow character?

#1

I’m pulling delimited data out of MySQL and pasting it into Excel and finding that if there is a return character it creates a new line. OK, that should be easily fixed.
Except it isn’t. Using ST2 I’m aware of using the GREP search function to look for \n, etc to replace.
Except it’s not finding this strange left-pointing character found in this screen cap.

Here I’m searching or \n in GREP and it gets close. I don’t want to have to manually select and delete this character, but I’m unable to select it because I don’t know what it represents.
Looking at this in NotePad++ I can see a question mark and the icons for CR LF which is Windows friendly.
Searching on Google yielded no love and getting frustrated that I’m not seeing how to select it. Experienced eyes appreciated, thx, sam

you could copy and paste the arrow character into the search box and replace it with nothing

Yes, that is a good workaround. Still how is it represented in GREP?
thx! :relaxed:

It might be worth loading the file into a hex editor and seeing what character that is.
