What does the coloured line mean?

Hi there,
I am new to Sublime and am wondering what the coloured line that appears next to the ‘line numbers’ on the left means when I am editing my HTML?

That’s the magic of the Incremental Diff functionality of ST. Based on the mini_diff setting, you can configure it either shows you Git related modifications or since you last opened the file.
