Webpage Problem: <h1> title problem

Hi, I am a novice programmer, and I am having a problem. I have a problem, where whenever I try to make a title like “

I like cupcakes

” for my webpage, it just shows up as normal text instead of a title, I honestly have no idea what I am doing wrong, please help. I will put below the line of code. <div id="churchfounder"
