VirtualBox -- Cannot change font_face

#1

Hello. I can change font_face just fine at home on both mac and pc. At work, we use a pc running on CrunchBang (Debian/Ubuntu) inside VirtualBox.

For some reason, when I try and change font, upon saving, nothing happens at all, even though the new font name is now saved.

Is it cause VirtualBox has no access to the system fonts? Any ideas?

Thank you,
Pete

if you are using a build newer than 3127, you should see an error in ST’s console if it can’t use the font you specify

In the console it says 'font face “Menlo” could not be found, defaulting to “Monospace”. Any suggestions?

Is the Menlo font installed in the VM? I would guess that the operating system being hosted in the VM doesn’t have general access to the host’s installed fonts, but I could be wrong.

As @OdatNurd says: The font isn’t available inside the VM. VMs never have any access to the underlying OS - with the exception of shared folders the user defines explicitly.
