View file in different encoding

#1

I am using the latest build and trying to view a file in a different encoding. I saw some other user was successful in doing so: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/21289157/set-encoding-of-file-to-utf8-with-bom-in-sublime-text-3

But I could not find where on the bottom bar in the GUI to select the encoding. Could anyone help? Thanks!

Put “show_encoding”: true in your user settings and then restart Sublime Text.
The present encoding of the file will be indicated on the status bar, and when you click on that wording,
a list of encodings will appear that you can choose from.

For completeness, the encoding options are also available from File > Reopen with Encoding in the menu if you don’t have the setting mentioned enabled.

Thank you @Jackeroo! @OdatNurd Great tip - especially when working with someone on their box.
