Upgrading Sublime Deletes Files Unrelated to the Package Resulting in Data Loss

If you use the Portable version of Sublime and you allow Sublime to automatically update, it deletes all files in the directory resulting in data loss.

I have created an Install.cmd script and placed it in the same directory as Sublime. The script installs Sublime to the start menu and desktop. Everytime Sublime does an automatic upgrade, it deletes that script and I have to recreate it.

That’s expected behavior.

You can place install scripts in a sub directory, such as “setup” to keep them. Directories are not effected from cleanup.
