Updating creates multiple copies of the app (Mojave)

Lately (from 3175) updates seem to create new copies of the app instead of replacing it. I now have six copies of Sublime Text in my /Applications folder:

  • Sublime Text (3175).app
  • Sublime Text (3180) (3180) (3180) (3180).app
  • Sublime Text (3180) (3180) (3180).app
  • Sublime Text (3180) (3180).app
  • Sublime Text (3180).app
  • Sublime Text.app

This is on macOS Mojave 10.14.1.

This implies that something is blocking the app from updating itself. Normally it deletes the old version when done.

Ok so it’s an OS / local settings related issue? Not ST?
