This is really not breaking anything, but it is making me crazy. There are a handful of files that show up as open windows when I right-click on the Sublime icon in my doc (MacOS 11.6.7) and I cannot get rid of them. I can click on them, and close the window, or select ‘Close File’ from the File menu, and the open window will disappear, but they remain in the list of windows when I go back to the dock.

This is being done by macOS as it shows recently opened files there and ST now notifies the OS of the files it opened. You can disable this using the "update_system_recent_files" setting.
