Update fails

why does the update fail when allowing a version 3 auto update to proceed?

Could you provide the version you’re on, the OS you’re using and a full description of updating failing?

Sublime Text version 3.2.1, Build 3207
OS Windows 10 Pro, Version 1809

Before today
On startup, or when using the “Check for Updates” link, the application displays message box titled "Update"with “applying patch” legend, then switches to message box titled “Update” with the legend A new version of Sublime Text is ready to install. Clicking on install results in additional message box saying it can’t do the update.

Today, in trying to reproduce the problem, the update succeeded (apparently).
