Uneven font alignment

I’m experiencing a strange issue with SublimeText. I use a font called Hack, which I really like. However, when using this font with SublimeText 3, the alignment of syntax-highlighted-bold tags is a bit off from the rest of the text.

I opened up a GitHub issue on the Hack font’s repo:

I included some pictures in the issue above that demonstrates this unalignment problem.

The author and I couldn’t figure out a definitive answer to this issue, but because it only seems to happen in SublimeText, I figured I’d post here and ask if anyone has had similar issue with this or any other font.

Has anyone experienced something like this?

I noticed the same behavior with the Ubuntu Mono font.
Somwhere, on the internet, I read somebody stating that this problem is present only with Sublime Text.

I can say I have never seen this and have been using Hack for a long time.

I’m on OS X 10.11.3 so perhaps this is an issue between windows and sublime, since you say Atom doesn’t do the same thing.

I tend to use 10, 12, even 14pt sometimes. No additional line height/padding, and subpixel antialias turned on.
