Unable to register license

#1

Hello, I have a single user license for Text and Merge and Since reinstalling linux fedora KDE desktop on my laptop I have been unable to re-register my copy of sublime text.

I saw another thread where it was explained that I need to reformat the text so it appears line by line as it does in my license e-mail but it seems no matter how I try I just get the dialog box:
“That license key doesn’t appear to be valid.
Please check that you have entered all lines from the license key, including the BEGIN LICENSE, and END LICENSE lines.”

I did key recovery to ensure I have the correct key, and I have also placed the key (copy and pasted from email) into my “~/.config/sublime-text-3/Local” folder as License.sublime_license

my installation was carried out using the Fedora 41 and newer Stable command on the sublime text website.

I just tried your license key and it’s working fine for me. It should look like this:

Are you sure that when you did the update to Fedora 41 and then installed Sublime that you did not actually install Sublime 4? Under Help --> About Sublime Text what is the Build number?

Also in my Sublime 4 install License.sublime_license is a binary file, so I don’t think a copy and paste of the license is going to work. Now things maybe different in Sublime 3, I have no way of testing that.

This is what my license looks like, I’ve tried ending each line with " /n" which is how it appears after copy+pasting it. I’ve also tried have no space after the last character in a line only “/n”

Good call, I hadn’t really checked this, other than unintentionally seeing that my installation folder in ~/.config is still “sublime-text-3”

but alas, I’m on Version 3.2.2, Build 3211.
