UI Issue: Black Everywhere - I can't see the buttons

#1

The issue I’m having is entirely visual so the image below is probably the best description I can give. Anyway, the problem is that a lot of the UI elements are inexplicably black, so I can’t read a lot of important text or see many of the buttons. I’ve tried reinstalling Sumblime Text and it hasn’t helped.

I’m using the latest build on Windows 8.1 Pro via Boot Camp.
Computer is a late 2010 iMac with 8GB RAM, 2.8GHz i5, ATI Radeon HD 5750 1GB

Thanks for looking into it,
Thomas

Have you made any changes to your user settings regarding which theme to use? I believe what you’re experiencing may happen when a theme is specified which does not exist. I’ve also found that when I first install Sublime, install the package manager, install a theme, then change my settings to use that theme, there are sometimes some graphical glitches like this until I close and reopen the editor.

I don’t believe I’ve installed any custom themes. The one shown above is Mac Classic, but I’ve tried pretty much every pre-installed theme, and it’s the same issue.

Theme != color scheme.

The former changes the chrome (which is where you’re having the issue), while the latter affects the colors of the text within the editor window.

Look in Preferences > Settings - User for a line that reads:

"theme": "whatever",

Try removing it and restarting ST.

Hope this helps,
Alex
