Trying to get annoying update notifier to go away

#1

I have Sublime Text 3 build 4113 and I constantly get the update notification when opening the program, and I am trying to make it stop. I tried the “update_check”: false, in the settings file with no change at all. Before anyone says anything, yes I do have a valid license. I do not wish to pay for another license at this time so I want to hold off on ST4 for now. Can someone please help it gets really annoying.

Thanks.

If you’re using build 4113 you’re using Sublime Text 4 not Sublime Text 3 already, and if you have a license then adding the setting will work for you to block Sublime’s automatic checking. The update dialog has a checkbox in it that you can use to stop the checks.

Note however that if you’re running Linux and using one of the package repositories, it’s possible that the update notifications that you’re seeing are from your Distro telling you that there is a more updated version than the one you have, and to stop that you would need to tell your Distro to not do that as it’s outside of Sublime’s control in that case.

I would however point out that since you’re already running ST4 you might want to just let that version go ahead and update anyway since you’re not running the latest version.
