I’ve just updated to the newest version 3.2. When I open one of my *.tpl files the syntax highlighting says “Plain Text” instead of “HTML”. Why do I have to switch this everytime I open a file? Before the update every *.tpl file was noticed as HTML after opening it. Is that a bug or a feature?
*.tpl files syntax highlighing in version 3.2 is gone!

It’s done intentionally because tpl
means nothing but template. It could be literally a template of ANY language.
If in your case, they are mostly HTML, you could set HTML as the default syntax to .tpl
extension as shown in the following screenshot.

Tell me how to get everything in place now? PHP files open as HTML.
Is there any other way to open .tpl as html?

The method never changes. First open your .tpl file and then following the screenshot.
