I have a directory of 300 xml files each with a string that needs to be replaced… Is there a way to “Find/Replace in File” for all files in this directory without having Sublime open 300 tabs?
Too many tabs opening with Find/Replace in Files
For clarification, the behavior I am looking for is to just have it prompt me “Replace X occurrences in 300 files” and when I hit ok, it would just replace the strings without opening all the files in tabs.
If you make that folder into a “Project” by selecting the folder and from the menu ‘Project’ – ‘Save Project as…’ then you can perform actions upon all those files at once.
Although it might require you installing an additional package, I can’t remember if this comes from the default program or not. At any rate installing “Find++” gives a much better result to the editing process, IMO.
So, yes. You can replace ALL the instances of the desired text at once without opening each file separately.
So, any update on this this feature?
This will be very helpful if have it in sublime text.
Please add this feature.
Ha, it will take another 5 years for author to write it. Forget about it folks.
