I would LOVE that for markdown and org mode buffers.

Support for that won’t be added. The primary reason Sublime Text is so fast is because it assumes every line is the same size, changing font size/face breaks that assumption.

I love the pretty editing experience that is possible in editors like emacs for documents, but I am using sublime for the performance.
