The Auto Theme option does not work on Linux

#1

I’m on elementary OS (7), and the Auto Theme option does not work. The system switched to dark mode, but Sublime Merge remains light:

Even after restarting SM, it’s still in light mode.

Perhaps silly question, but just to cover the bases; do you have a Sublime Merge license? The one feature locked behind a license in Merge is the ability to switch the theme away from the Light theme.

Apart from that, what works for one should work for both since they share code behind the scenes.

Yes, I’m a fully licensed Sublime user. :slightly_smiling_face:

I can switch to the dark theme manually, it’s just the auto option that isn’t working as expected.

Some of the comments at https://github.com/sublimehq/sublime_text/issues/5194#issuecomment-1020709999 may shed some light on this

Thanks! Still broken, so it seems.

Do other GTK3-based apps change their theme?

I’m not sure which apps are GTK3 and which GTK4. I know elementary is working on moving everything to GTK4, and some of their apps are done already (like Files). But of course, all their own apps do work as expected, so that may not be a good reference.

Is there a way to determine the version?

I wouldn’t know. You could try installing the gtk3-demo app.
