Temporary files in Windows temp directory

#1

I am an avid fan of editing my web development files (.php) straight from FTP (FileZilla), so when I save them, FZ prompts me to upload them. All works fine.

Before moving to Sublime, I used to use PSPad in the same scenario. Now, I never saw the issue I am experiencing, but… I usually leave all my files open in tabs… All are saved in,e.g. C:\Users<user>\AppData\Local\Temp\fz3temp-2 courtesy of FileZilla… After a week or so of a file not being edited, Sublime tells me it has been deleted (red dot on the tab)… This is frustrating, to say the least…

I am here to find out which piece of software is doing this—Sublime, FileZilla, or Windows (11).

Thanks in advance.

It wouldn’t be Sublime unless you have a plugin installed which would delete it - unlikely.

And yet again. Do not complain about lost work, when using unsaved tabs or temporary directories to store crucial work. A temporary directory is for what it’s name says - temporary data. It is not meant to keep their forever.

I am surprised FileZilla keeps a link of such shuffled named temp file and the remote location over weeks.

That said, IIRC windows has features to remove old data from temporary locations or download folders. I wouldn’t be surprised it being part of its weekly house keeping background jobs.
