tabTrigger / indent stopped working entirely

After latest sublime update all my snippets are uncallable with the tab trigger
e.g. i called a span tag when writing “span” and clicking the Tab button, but it just won’t work anymore.

Also, the Tab key stopped creating indents too.

Why would such a disruptive change be implemented?
Any ideas how i can revert this back to normal?

Does hitting tab twice expand “span” tags?
