Sublime’s spaces indentation mode is a hack that just replaces tabs with spaces. Always. It’s literally impossible to input a tab while in spaces mode.
It even messes with the contents of a paste, turning tabs into spaces (And breaking workflows involving tables and regex). This is something a text editor Should. Not. Do.
