Tabbing multiple lines replaces text in some files

I’m running into a strange behavior with some of my open files where when I select multiple lines and use “tab” to indent all the selected lines, Sublime is replacing the text with the tab character rather than indenting the whole selection.

The strange thing is it appears to be on a per-document basis, as in several other open files the indenting behavior occurs as expected.

Can anyone tell me what is causing this behavior, and how I get the expected behavior back?

an example please. a reproducible . Maybe some plugin messing around?

Instead of using tab to indent, I always use CMD+]. You can use CMD+ to outdent too

Happens to me when the “please buy a license” popup is in background.

What @leonsaysHi said was also happening to me. Closing a “Buy a License” prompt from SFTP/FTP plugin resolver the problem. :smiley:

This happens when any additional pop-up is in the background, including delete a file/folder prompt
