I put my licensed copy of ST Build 4180 on a new Windows 10 PC. Pressing the tab key generates 4 spaces. On my old Windows 10 machine it works correctly. It’s driving me nuts. It doesn’t translate existing tabs into spaces but won’t generate new ones. I tried searching for “tab” and found the setting to always draw tabs, and the one to translate tabs into spaces is turned off. But I can’t find a setting for “really generate tabs” and its driving me nuts. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks,
Lloyd

Is the “Indent using Spaces” entry enabled in the View > Indentation menu? When loading a file ST detects the indentation by default and will enable tab-to-spaces translation if the file uses spaces for indentation. You can disable this using the "detect_indentation"
setting.

Thanks very much! I had both of those set wrong. I fixed them both, and it works the way I want now. I appreciate the help!
