Syntax Highlighting Stopped Working

#1

Hello!

I’m using ST3, Build 3092 on an iMac with Yosimite.

Suddenly, some of my existing HTML files are not recognizing the HTML syntax. Examples of the problem include…

Commenting out text gives // instead of
quotes and apostrophe’s are breaking the syntax highlighting
Emmet and HTML autocompletions won’t work

I am able to change the Syntax through View > Syntax to something else and back again to get it to work on some files, but not this morning.

Does anyone know of a way I can ‘force’ the syntax to HTML? Is there something I should check in my files that might trigger this sort of thing?

This problem just started in the last few days, and I’ve been using ST for a few years now.

Thanks ahead of time for your suggestions,

The last builds 3090, 3091 had serious issues with html syntax highlighting.
You should look at the related topics in General Announcements, maybe you’ll find something to help you.

Maybe delete the Cache folder ?

Hi there, I have a similar problem to this. (Build 3066 ST3, MAC OSX)

Whenever I open ANY file, .js, .css, .html, anything, they always just open as plain text. I can change the syntax of each of them individually, but even if I change my file to syntax:css, save and close it, then open up again, it’s back to plain text!

This is really annoying, can anyone help, is there a setting for “automatcally syntax highlight based on file type” ? Seems ridiculous that sublime doesn’t know to highlight a .js file with a the .js highlighting it already has.

Cheers,
Simon
