Switching Close Tab Behavior to Default to The Next Open Tab

Hello,

Is there a way to switch the close tab behavior from defaulting to the left-hand tab instead of the right-hand tab?

e.g, if I have: [tab1, tab2, tab3] and close tab2, I’d like to have tab3 open, not tab1.

I looked through the preferences and documentation and didn’t seem to find anything. It’s a pretty small thing, but the way it works by default is out of line with every other tabbed application I use, and feels very dissonant.

there’s no option built in, you can try a plugin like https://packagecontrol.io/packages/TabsExtra though

another feature I would like ST to have natively is an option to open new tabs on the far right by default

Issue: Setting to control where (in the tab bar) new file tabs are created
