Sublimt Merge: Edit in sublime merge only

Is there a way to edit files in sublime merge only. I do not want to open a new editor. Also, if I press backspace on a file while I m viewing changes, it tells me to discard the hunk. How can I just edit it there and update the hunk i want to commit.

Thanks for your question!

Sublime Merge currently doesn’t support editing the contents of the file directly.
There’s an existing enhancement request here which I encourage you to vote up.
