Sublime Text forgeting it's license

#1

On one of my computers Sublime Text started to behave weird ever since i registered it. After each reboot it forgets it’s license and asks me to enter the key again. What is even more weird, unlike how unlicensed ST worked, it does not allow me to do anything until license is entered. When key is entered it works fine until next reboot. Reinstalling or removing license via menu and registering again does not help.
On my other computers there are no problems.
I use Linux version of ST under Devuan 3.

  • Can you confirm the license file is written on the disk successfully?
ST's application menuPreferencesBrowse Packages..., the license file should be at ../Local/License.sublime_license.
  • Do you share ST settings across machines via Dropbox, Github, or whatever way?

Sounds like you are using a dev build ST rather than a stable one. A dev build always requires a license.

I can confirm this is happening on my iMac. On my MacBook Pro 16 it remembers license between restarts. I do not use a dev build and I do not have to enter the license but since I purchased it I want to use the license. Frustrating to not be able to restart the computer without Sublime loosing all recollection of me having entered a license.

complain won’t help. report the result which I mentioned last year may do.

License is there, I don’t share settings and I’m not complaining, I’m stating that something isn’t working properly and that I have the exact same problem as was reported here.

This iMac was just reinstalled because it used to have this exact issue before. Unfortunately, a clean install didn’t fix this issue. Freshly formatted drive, fresh everything.

So the file License.sublime_license is somehow auto deleted (or invalid) after a reboot?
Or it’s not created after you enter the license at all?

As you can see neither! The file is there (it was created the 16th of March when I reinstalled my iMac and all apps) it just isn’t picked up by sublime. I have to enter the same key every time I start the app (after a restart)

If you enter the license via ST application, License.sublime_license will be encrypted and bound to the machine. Though this sounds not important, I suggest that you do a experiment: edit License.sublime_license directly and paste your license code in it. Maybe this will work after a reboot.
