This just started happening today. I am on Windows 10 and using Version 3.1.1 Build 3176. The software automatically crashes without any error message whenever I try to save a new file or open a new file

meaning using File -> Open, File -> Save As?
what about opening through other means like dragging and dropping, or subl from the command line?

It was happening in both those instances. I reinstalled ST3 and it seemed to have fixed the issue.
