Sublime Text Build 4126 _ what ST version is that?

#1

Hi:
I’m sorting out a small issue with launching Sublime Test on my Mac using https://www.raycast.com/.

I figured I should start by determining what version of ST I’m running. I get this from subl --version:
Sublime Text Build 4126

Is that ST3 ? How would I know ?

In case anyone is curious, Raycast is way beyond a replacement for Spotlight on the Mac. One of things Raycast supports is creating keyboard shortcuts for doing things like launching apps. I created a shortcut for launching Sublime Text and it works, but it comes up on ‘safe mode’. That’s what I’m sorting out.

Thanks for reading.

cheers

Major version numbers such as Sublime Text 3 or 3.1 or 4 have basically been dropped. It’s just Sublime Text with rolling releases. The only versioning is the build number, which is just incremented with each dev/stable release.

Apparently the answer to: “Why does Sublime Text launch in Safe mode ?” is:

  • If the OPT key (on a Mac) is held down while launching ST, it comes up in Safe mode.

To work around that I added the SHIFT key to the shortcut, and ST now launches normally.
