Sublime Text 4 - How to change key for opening in Safe Mode

#1

Long time ST3 user. I just downloaded ST4 and love it! My only complaint is the new Safe Mode triggered by holding Option to open ST4. I have a keyboard shortcut on Option+Enter to open ST4 which means it always opens in Safe Mode. I’m wondering if there’s a way to either disable the Safe Mode trigger or change what key it listens for. Thanks!

There is not a way to do that currently, although it has been requested by people in a similar situation to yours. I don’t think there’s been any official word on it as of yet, or at least not that I’ve seen yet.

Very, very annoying,
So we can no longer quick-launch sublime via an Alt-key combination ?

+1. It’s been years using Option-E to open (or bring to foreground) my text editor. Please, let us disable it or modify the key.

Looking forward to a fix for this. Sticking with ST3 for the time being. ST3 is the best !

Solution:

Build 4113

  • Safe Mode key binding can be disabled by creating a file named .Disable Safe Mode Shortcut in the data directory
