Sublime Text 4 associating itself as File Manager in Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm

#1

A few months ago I switched from MacOS to Raspberry Pi OS as my main driver. It is comforting to see Sublime Text 4 work just fine on this SBC.

One issue that is a bother is that when I click on the download button in Chromium browser, it typically opens the File Manager (pcmanfm). But with Sublime Text installed, it opens Sublime Text! Uninstalling Sublime Text makes this problem go away.

Appreciate some advise (and if appropriate a fix) please? Thank you.

hi,

maybe below will help.

  1. Install Sublime Text once again
  2. Open ~/.config/mimeapps.list or /etc/xdg/mimeapps.list
  3. Find inode/directory entry
  4. If inode/directory=sublime_text.desktop change it to: inode/directory=pcmanfm.desktop

Hope, it’ll help.
