Sublime Text 3 trying to update with update check disabled

#1

Hi, I’m sticking to Sublime Text 3 for now, and have disabled the update check by adding "update_check": false, to my user preferences. But today when I launched ST3, it prompted me to download and update to the latest version again. What’s going on? Did I set the wrong configuration option?

EDIT: Never mind, turns out that ST3 was in unregistered mode for some reason. Weird.

Okay this is weird, every time I launch ST3 it goes back into ‘unregistered mode’ even though I have a valid permanent ST3 license. This is getting frustrating. Any idea what’s going on, or how I can find out what’s going on?

ST stores your license (in an encoded format using your machine id) as License.sublime_license (to get to this, go to Preferences -> Browse Packages from the main menu, up one level to Sublime Text or Sublime Text 3 and then into Local folder).

After you launch, if you go to that directory, do you see the aforementioned file ?

It’s there at the moment, although I already re-entered my license file. The file information indicates that the file has been there since January 6 (which is when I bought this computer and installed ST3), and that it was just modified when I reapplied the license.

If I quit and reopen ST3, it remains licensed at present (because of COURSE it fails to manifest the bug when I’m trying to manifest it). I’ll try to remember to check again the next time ST3 goes into unlicensed mode.
