Sublime Text 3 eating 50% CPU process with large (4MB) file

#1

Hi,

I’m new to ST3. I’m editing a 2000-page, 4.1MB text document. It’s no code, there’s barely any formatting (so coloring to minimum), and my installation is new (my user setting are not clogged, and I don’t have many package installed). Yet, whenever I start typing, CPU process jump to at least 50% and ST3 lags (not much, but still). I do the same in TextEdit or MacDown and I don’t have any issue. Any way to remediate to this? Thank you.

Do you have word wrapping turned on?

Word Warp (in View) is turned off. If I’m not typing, ST3 does not consume much CPU, but as soon as I start typing a few words (10, 15) CPU usage rise over 100%. The document is long (630,000 words, 68600 lines), but I would expect a plain text document to be easily handled. Since yesterday I ran some test: I don’t have this issue in TextEdit, MacDown nor a basic emacs installation.
