I was tired of updating by hand every new ST2 beta/dev build.
Then ST2 was stable, and happily that feeling stop.
Now with ST3 it’s happening again.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m happy with all the new features and know that ST’s team is still developing this beauty piece of software (i bought ST2 while still in beta. No regrets).
Then I thought about doing some PPA, but i don’t want to being updating the source by hand every time a new version it’s out.
I just need a fast way to grab the new files, install them, setup the .desktop file and icons… with no annoying in the way.
So, i made this small bash script to do all this, in one step:
github.com/TCattd/sublime-text-linux-installer
You can check the source to see what this thing it’s doing.
Can be used to update an installation too (it will not touch your settings on you’r /home/ folder). Just run the same install process.
Made a version of the Bash Installer for Sublime Text 3 and one for Sublime Text 2 too.
And both installations can live together.
Feel free to use it as you like.
