Sublime pricing structure

Why not make Sublime $30 but have a slider to pay less or more.
Have the slider default on $59.

“Good idea”, :open_mouth:

so you should tell your really “good idea” also car companies.
Default is the target price, but the customer can reduce it almost to the half. :astonished:

Here’s an idea… let’s give your employer/client a slider where they indicate how much they pay you every month.

The default can be your monthly salary/invoice amount, but they can pay more (or less) if they want to.

Sorry, I couldn’t resist

I propose that ST to be open sourced. And let users donate how much they want.

Donate? What is this, the 20th century?

ST should be postcardware.

And then Jon can build a house out of the postcards and live in it and write a memoir about it (on a typewriter, for irony’s sake), which would be turned into a tragi-comic film by Tim Burton.

And then Jon would live off the royalties of the merchandise of the film.

You kidding, right? This is exactly how ALL business are working!

And the ticket on that movie should have variable price. Because that’s how economy works.

A few indie developers allow people to do this, Incident57 (Codekit) for example have a similar structure. The minimum payment is the actual cost, but the buyer can pay more if they feel it’s worth more to them. For Codekit 2, I gave Bryan a few extra dollars because I instantly installed it on my MacBook and iMac.

@moontan & to all new users:

Before replying, examine a user’s join date and post count, (it’s over there on the right), which will give you an indication of how many times they have helped other users in these forums – because that’s what these forums used to be about, before ST-bashing became a popular sport – and, more crucially, how fed up they might be with pointless threads like this one. In which case they might just be taking the piss.

Hope this helps,
Alex

I don’t care how many post he/she has.

how am I to assume he’s not just another idiot?
the world is full of them.

if his/her intent was to be sarcastic would it have been too much to add a smiley? :unamused:

800 posts don’t come out of nowhere, and this forum is (against popular belief) moderated.

And no, we’re not adding smileys because explaining jokes always defeats them.

@iamntz: That’s probably the first time I saw the full video of it … …
