Sublime merge opens ST in differerent environment

I am a Newbie to the forum and Linux. I apologize in advance if my questions seems stupid. When I trigger the editor from Sublime merge, it does open ST but it does as unregistered copy of the program (I have a licensed ST on my system) without any of my usual settings on a new window. Can anyone guide on how to be able to open in my usual ST environment? Thank you.

Linux Mint 20.1
Sublime merge build 2059 (licensed)
Sublime text 3 build 4113 (licensed)
path: /opt/sublime_text/sublime_text

Found your problem.There is no ST3 Build 4113.

it might be worth opening the ST console (both in the “normal” environment and the one opened by Merge) and typing/pasting sublime.packages_path() and Enter and comparing the results. Maybe they differ somehow?
