Sublime LIcense Recovery - again

#1

Hello,

I am trying to recover my license so I can upgrade it? I try to upgrade the license and it is telling me the license has been revoked and that is has already been upgraded? The ODD thing is my license works GREAT on 4192 on Windows, but trying to enter the license on 4192-1 from the AUR on Arch linux (4192 being the same version I am using on Windows) it is telling me my license has expired and removes it. How can my license be good on Windows but not good on Linux with the SAME version? Isn’t this like trying to extort money from me so I can use it on Linux? I have been using it on Windows for a couple of years with no problem, why is my license not working on Linux with the SAME version of the code? I have even tried an older version which I KNOW worked before (4189) which is ALSO now telling me my license is bad. Please fix this, I paid for this I expect to be able to use the SAME version on Windows as I am trying to use on Linux.

A few things:

  1. You can go here: https://www.sublimehq.com/store/retrieve_key to get your key again.
  2. Suggesting you’re being extorted makes you sound very childish.
  3. You can also contact sales I believe, email here, to sort this.

(My License key, purchased this time last year, works great on my Linux, Mac and Windows computers)

Note also that revoked and expired are different.

A revoked license is removed because it has been redacted by SublimeHQ, which would leave Sublime back at an “Unregistered” state.

In contrast an expired license is one in which the alloted time period for updates has elapsed. When your license is expired, the title bar of the window tells you that a license upgrade is required, but otherwise the license is left alone.

Any license that you get is valid for all builds prior to the date at which the license expires, with the sole exception being licenses for Sublime that bundle Text and Merge into one license (because the format is different and older builds of Sublime Text don’t understand them).

In any case, I would definitely second the reccomendation of contacting sales to get the issue sorted out. They will have records of the license key.

In the interim, I woudl think the more interesting thing is why it is telling you the license is upgraded if you’re trying to upgrade it, which would seem to suggest that you didn’t upgrade it previously.
