I’m a long time sublime user. It started out awesome and then started to degrade. Recently pretty badly. I’m fine with some instability but crashing 10+ times a day, showing beachball of death immediately after opening couple projects. This is BS. Did the owner make so much money that he doesn’t care anymore? I’m building Atom while writing this. Dear owner of SublimeText, please don’t f…ck this project up. You could make so much of it. Thanks
Sublime is so unstable it should be called Francium-223
Before starting throwing stones, did you tried to revert?
Maybe it’s a plugin that misbehave?
Well, it’s certainly not a universal problem; I’ve been using ST full-time for just over a year (I know, not that long…) and I’ve never crashed or encountered the “beachball of death.”
Which version of sublime are you running? What operating system? Have you tried unloading plugins to ensure that the instability is not being caused by a particular plugin?
Thanks for suggestions. I will try to revert & report back. Most likely it is the plugins causing the hangings. Though without plugins, sublime loses much of its appeal. I think the plugins should not be able to cause such effect (halt or crash the editor) no matter how badly written.
I’m not saying to remove all plugins for good. I’m just saying that you can pinpoint the faulty plugin.
When you find the bad boy, you either update the plugin, try to fix it then send a pull request to its author or simply find another plugin.
