Sublime has multiple installations of older versions

#1

Hello,

The Sublime installation in my Macbook (running on latest Big Sur) seems to be somehow corrupted. I have the latest Sublime Text installed (build 4113), but my “Applications” folder creates dozens of “Sublime Text-x” folders every day, each containing a separate instance of Sublime Text (build 3211).

I have tried deleting all the Sublime installations and its configurations at ~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 3, however that didn’t fix the issue. Furthermore, some text files open by default using the older Sublime instances (3211), even though I have configured them otherwise.

Is this related to Sublime? Or could this be an issue related to macOS?
Thanks,
Kostas

The Sublime Text updater does some renaming when installing a new version but doesn’t follow that format. That’s certainly not expected behavior nor have I ever seen anything like that before, so my guess would be an external application is making those.
