Sublime doesn't save the file in the directory it was created

When I right-click a folder in the sidebar and I do “New file”, then if I save the file, it doesn’t save it in the selected folder but in the most recent folder.

I’m on Elementary OS 5.1 and Sublime Text 3.2.2

The default behavior of New File (this Side Bar one, not the one defined in the Main menu) is to save in the same directory which you right clicked. Can you attach a GIF or something to show how it is not saving in the selected folder or try reverting to a freshly installed state and then check the behavior.

I reverted to a fresh install and here’s the behavior in a gif:

That’s an odd behavior. As per the plugin code behind New File, it should definitely save in that guide-de-pont folder. Maybe a Sublime dev can throw more light on this.

Sometimes I can observe the issue, i cannot replicate the issue.

  • Sublime Text Build 3211
  • Linux 5.4.0-40-generic x86_64
