Sublime doesn't let me to select text

For some unknown reason at some moment sublime has started to skip any text selection I did. It skips right after releasing mouse button.

Does anybody know what caused this problem.

OS: Ubuntu 16.04
sublime is installed from tarball in /opt directory. I tried reinstalling sublime and removing config dir, nothing helps.

When you say you removed the config dir, does this mean you reinstalled and started Sublime without restoring the configuration, so it was running in a clean state without any of your custom preferences or packages installed?

Yes, I removed ~/.config/sublime-text-3/ dir and dir where sublime was installed(for me it’s /opt/sublime/)
