Subl non gui mode does not work

#1

Hi,

I am newbie trying out Sublime. I installed the editor on CentOS Linux release 8.2.2004 (Core). I invoked subl from a shell expecting to see an non gui version of the editor but it silently exits. Any idea where I can find the error logs to find out any dependencies I might have missed.

There is no non-gui version of Sublime; subl is a command line helper that allows you to start Sublime from the terminal and have it open files. As such it starts the application running or communicates with an already running version and then exits.
